Everything You Need to Know About Equity Crowdfunding

Gowling WLG business lawyer, Denis Silva, and FrontFundr founder and CEO, Peter-Paul Van Hoeken, will explain all you need to know about how to crowdfund your start-up / early-stage company. Topics will include a discussion of the different types of crowdfunding, a review of available crowdfunding exemptions and other regulatory approaches and conclude by discussing how a funding portal can assist your start-up / early-stage funding.

About our Guest Speakers:

Denis Silva- Associate, Business Law, Gowling WLG

Denis Silva is a Vancouver-based Gowling WLG lawyer who advises companies and investment banks in a variety of capital markets transactions with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, options and joint ventures, proxy contests and exchange listings. He is experienced in a broad spectrum of securities products, including equity and debt securities, and has worked on numerous financing transactions. One of his recent successes includes being a key member of the legal team that advised an earth observation company on its acquisition of a public target company, concurrent financing and listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Peter-Paul Van Hoeken- CEO & Founder, FrontFundr

Peter-Paul has over 15 years of experience in finance, investment management and business consultancy. He's held mulitple senior management positions with global banks in the areas of corporate strategy, commercial and investment banking. Peter-Paul has also held management consultancy roles in Europe. In 2013 Peter-Paul founded FrontFundr to address this challenge and take on the opportunity to create the New Capital Market. He also serves as a director on the National Board of the Private Capital Markets Association in Canada. Peter-Paul holds a Master of Science in business economics and finance from Erasmus University Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.

What is the cancellation policy?
All ticket sales are final. No refunds.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the Hub?
The Hub is conveniently located 7 minutes by foot from VCC-Clark Skytrain station. Hourly parking is available on both sides of the building which are metered by Impark. Alternatively, street parking is available on Great Northern Way, free of charge. There is also a $2 daily parking lot available at the end of the block where you will see a fleet of white trucks.
